I’m sure you’ve seen the Elderberry products at your local grocery store or pharmacy. I bet you’ve also seen the price tag associated with the products! Growing your very own elderberries at home is an easy and inexpensive way to have your own abundance of fresh elderberries for you and your family to enjoy. Not only are they fun to grow, but they are also easy to process and make delicious syrup or baked goods with.
Below, we have American Elderberry cuttings for sale. Explore our current 2023 cultivar offerings: Bob Gordon, Kentucky Native. Upon receiving our Elderberry cuttings, place them in the fridge until springtime rolls around, then stick them in the dirt! It can be as easy as that. Detailed instructions and Q&A will be provided with each order. If you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out to us.
Please refer to our ‘Elderberry Planting & Care’ page (QR code link included with your Elderberry cuttings) when you get your cuttings. If you follow our guidance, you should have a high success rate for your Elderberry cuttings. We understand things happen; dog pulls cutting out of the ground, cutting accidentally gets planted upside down, you thought you planted them all only to find a dry cutting you accidentally left in the mulch never to get planted, (yes, we’ve done them all), so we include a few extra cuttings at no cost to you with your order to ensure you get to enjoy what you had hoped for!
Depending on your location, we recommend storing the cuttings in a refrigerator set between 30-40 degrees Fahrenheit until time to plant. Keep them refrigerated until the threat of frost passes, typically from late March to April in our area. The cuttings are shipped in a bag with slightly damp peat moss to prevent them from drying out.
Check in on your cuttings every other week while in the fridge. If you see lots of condensation on the bag, open the bag, and wipe down the sides of the bag with a paper towel. Place another dry paper towel in the bag overnight and remove the next morning. The goal is to keep the cuttings from drying out but also from getting moldy.
If you have any issues or questions contact us right away. During storage, you might observe new life budding from the nodes on the cuttings. This is perfectly normal! Please reference our Elderberry Planting & Care Guide – Here for more helpful information when you get your cuttings!

Refunds and Replacements
We handle refund and replacement requests on a case-by-case basis. We will review your concern promptly upon receiving your email. Depending on the nature of the issue, we may offer a refund or provide replacement Elderberry cuttings.
Conditions for Refunds or Replacements
- Defective Items: If the item received is damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us within 7-days of delivery. We may require visual evidence, such as photographs, to process your request.
- Return Shipping: In some cases, return shipping costs may be covered by Kentucky Elderberry for approved returns or exchanges. We will provide specific instructions upon reviewing your request.
